There are times in a marketer’s life when the realization that his or her marketing plan or objectives is just no cutting it. A good marketer would set parameters, adjust the plan and develop new strategies that have better chance for success. So if a good marketer is willing to do this then why shouldn’t you follow suit.
Trade Show Marketing can be a tiring and expensive marketing endeavor especially if it’s not done properly. I know in this economy budget constraints can be an issue and I am definitely not declaring that you need to spend a-lot money to be successful at the show. What you do need is a solid plan and display that fits your company’s branding needs. Whether it is a portable trade show exhibit, pop up displays, or larger custom trade show exhibits you need to find the best suitable display at the best price possible.
Your trade show display should be designed not to only attract show attendees but convey your company message and instill brand recognition amongst visitors. This is where most trade show marketers fail. From my experience many exhibitors think they just have to show up and by doing so they will receive all the leads that they need to deem the show a success. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Not only does your display have instill a sense a professionalism amongst the exhibitors so does your staff. At the show you should have well trained staff members manning the booth. You want to make a good first impression and having an untrained or understaffed booth doesn’t exactly shout professionalism to the attendees.
As mention earlier your trade show display represents your company. I understand that exhibitors want to get their monies worth from their booth but you also need to have and open mind and realize when your booth is no longer drawing attention or representing your company in the best light. This doesn’t necessarily mean go out and purchase a new booth some simple refurbishments, updated graphics, or added accessories such as new trade show flooring, banner stands and literature racks can make a world of difference. These simple updates can create a whole new look and offer more branding space.
When preparing for your next show spend the time and effort involved in making sure that your booth and company are represented in the best way possible and success is sure to follow.
